American Airlines' UK credit card is run by MBNA. The card offers air miles for every pound spent on the card.
You also get 5,000 AAdvantage Bonus Miles when you make your first purchase with the card. Remember, this offer can be withdrawn at any time, so double-check before you apply.
Bear in mind that loyalty programs can be altered at short notice. You might find that your points have suddenly become worth a lot less. It all depends on whether the provider decides to tweak the system.
MBNA doesn't fare particularly well in Fairer Finance's rankings. However, customers of the American Airlines card generally have a much more positive experience with the company. The American Airlines’ credit card took home a Bronze Fairer Finance Ribbon in our previous review, having achieved a gold Ribbon the period before.
Unfortunately it no longer qualifies for any ribbon - as it saw a slight fall in its overall score, and has been overtaken by a fair few of its competitors.
Still, if you're a regular American Airlines traveler and are in the market for a new credit card, this card could be a good choice for you.
