Most of the Bank of Ireland's business in the UK is done under the Post Office's brand, for which it runs the financial services division.
It now also provides credit cards and savings products for the AA. The Bristol & West Building Society became part of the Bank of Ireland in 1997.
The Bank of Ireland does offer a limited number of products direct to the UK market. These are mainly found in Northern Ireland and are marketed under the Bank of Ireland UK brand. This includes mortgages and personal loans. It also sells insurance products in Ireland.
Its customer happiness and trust scores are below average for its bank accounts. But it also has a fairly good transparency score when compared to its rivals in the sector.
However its transparency scores for mortgages and personal loans are well below average.
