The primary way in which businesses and policymakers access our data and analysis is through subscribing to our online Insight Portal.

The Insight Portal contains a significant variety and diversity of data, as well as time-series analysis stretching back as far as 10 years.

We have significantly developed the scope and functionality of the Insight Portal over the last few years. Spurred on by the Consumer Duty, providers use our data and analysis to evidence that they have met the regulator’s expectations.

Subscribers to the Insight Portal benefit from the following analysis.

  • Product data, allowing product feature comparisons at the touch of a button. We collect this data as part of our 1-5 Star Product Ratings, though we also have datasets for sectors where wo don’t currently have Product Ratings. The Insight Portal gives users the ability to dive into the detail of how all their product features stack up against their competitors. The Insight Portal has data on over 10,000 products from more than 30 sectors. Our team of industry experts collects this data and keeps it up-to-date.

  • Consumer experience data, underpinning customer service benchmarking. We collect this data through polling over 10,000 consumers every 6-months.

  • Transparency analysis, containing analysis of your purchase journeys and key documents. This will enable you to keep up with industry best practice and achieve customer understanding. We collect data on transparency through our product experts conducting mystery shopping.

  • Complaints analysis, benchmarking your FOS complaint uphold rate against your peers.

  • Document library, allowing you to easily track how your competitors are designing their products and communicating with their customers.

  • Fair value reports, benchmarking your prices, product features, and consumer service against the rest of the market. This comparable benchmarking is used by firms to underpin their internal fair value assessments.

  • Consumer understanding tools, such as our document analyser software, which will assess the level of jargon in your communications.

The data and analysis found in the Insight Portal underpins Fairer Finance’s endorsements and ribbons, product ratings, and – ultimately – our public policy positions.
