How to use our site

Here at Fairer Finance we work to make terms and conditions as clear as possible.

So you won’t find a long list of terms on our site. All we ask is that you use our site respectfully.

What can you do?

You can use our site to be guided by our ratings, read our insights, learn more about what we do, and get in touch with us. Everything on our site is public - so you can view our content, and pass it on to other people.

What can’t you do?

You can’t change anything on our site, and you can’t pass off anything here as your own. For example, if you screenshot our ratings, or download our reports, you’re more than welcome to send that on to other people - but you must credit us. And if you want to use our ratings in your marketing, you’ll need to buy a license from us.

What is our site for?

The information on our site isn’t meant to be personal advice. It's a general guide to help you make better decisions, and learn more about financial services.

Your data - how and why we use it

Websites usually collect data when you use them. Here at Fairer Finance we collect data, but the data isn’t as personal to you as it is for some other websites.

Here we’ll explain exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and what your rights are.

What data do we collect?

The data we collect from you depends on how you use our site.

If you’re a general user, then we collect data on pages that have been visited, in what order, and for how long. This data is not personal to you, and we can’t see how individuals have used our site.

The most personal pieces of data we could ever collect from you are your name and email address. We’d only collect this data if you sign up to our newsletter, or request a login for our Data Portal.

Why do we collect this data?

We collect data generally to improve our site. We can see which pages have been popular, and how our site has been used. We use this knowledge to make our site work better for you. You’ll never be contacted by us, or anyone else, for simply using our site.

If you’ve given us your email address when you sign up to our newsletter, we’ll use this to send you our newsletter - and nothing else. We never pass any data on to third parties, and never contact you in any other way.

If you’ve given us your name and email address to get a login to our Insight Portal, we will only ever contact you about our Insight Portal. Again, we never pass any data on to third parties, and never contact you in any other way.

What are your rights?

It’s your right to have all of your collected data kept secure - which we will do. You also have the right to see what data we’ve collected that’s personal to you. This data would only ever be your name and email address, and only if you’ve given them to us.

If you’ve changed your information, you can let us know and we can update our records. You can also ask us to remove your name and email address from our records at any time.
