Asda Money is the financial services division of the major supermarket chain. It is wholly owned by US retail giant Walmart.
Asda offers a range of banking and insurance products through different partners. Its travel insurance offering is underwritten by Spanish insurer MAPFRE and its credit card is provided by Creation Financial Services Limited. This company also issues cards under its own 'Creation' brand.
If you shop at Asda a lot, its cards come with a nice perk. The regular card pays out 1% cashback on all shopping and fuel purchases at the supermarket, and 0.5% elsewhere. The 'Plus' card pays out 2% at Asda, and 1% on all other purchases. There's a £3 monthly fee, which you can avoid by buying Asda Travel Money using the card. But this may not be the most favourable rate of exchange - compare the market first.
Don't expect to make a fortune in cashback, but it adds up over time and is better than getting nothing.
