DogTag is one of a number of brands owned by TifGroup. In December 2021, Tifgroup agreed with the FCA that it would no longer provide any claims handling services in the UK travel insurance market. In July 2023, Tifgroup's former chief medical officer, Miguel Nadal, had his medical licence suspended by the British Medical Association for misconduct in relation to his handling of a claim while he worked for Tif. Tifgroup's former underwriter URV no longer has permission to operate in the UK and Tifgroup's products are now underwritten by Collinson Group, which owns the Columbus Direct brand. Tifgroup acts as the administrator on these policies.
