Royal London is the UK's largest mutual life, pensions and investment company, meaning it's owned by its customers and not by private shareholders.
Royal London was established in 1861, making it one of the UK's oldest mutual insurance societies.
As well as the Royal London brand, it also owns the Scottish Provident and Scottish Life brands, which merged under the parent brand in 2015. It has only recently launched products which are available for customers to buy directly including life insurance and funeral plans.
