Shepherds Friendly Society is a mutual which means it answers to its members rather than shareholders.
Established in 1826, it's one of the oldest financial mutual societies in the world. They are currently based in Greater Manchester.
It originally only offered sickness and benefits cover but now over a range of products, such as life insurance and investment products.
